每年五月是社會新鮮人的求職旺季，許多求職者認為，只要擁有漂亮的學經歷、態度佳就能求職成功，外在條件不佳不是重點。根據yes123求職網調查指出，有43.7%的民眾，自認曾因外表門面問題未能成功錄取。事實上，大多數面試官都會以求職者的門面、穿著，來判定求職者的個性是否和善、態度是否積極。

調查發現，最容易導致求職失敗面相，包含雙眼無神不專注、雙頰凹陷不親和、膚況不佳無自信、五官平面無記憶點等因素。其中，雙眼無神、眼神呆滯，容易讓面試官覺得求職者不專注、不用心。約有4成的東方人是單眼皮，加上眼皮較厚、皮下脂肪以及眼窩脂肪也較多，讓單眼皮看起來更加無神。
至於雙頰凹陷、法令紋深、木偶紋，則給人缺乏活力、沒精神的印象。整個人顯得憔悴、無精打采，過深的淚溝更會讓求職者顯得面容老態缺乏活力。此外，求職面試時，臉上的痘疤、凹洞、黑斑，不只是膚況不好而已，更會影響求職者的自信心。若因膚色不均，選擇以厚重的底妝粉飾太平，又會讓面試官覺得濃妝豔抹不夠莊重，反而得不到好感。

嚴長壽2011年4月出版《教育應該不一樣》一書，希望喚起各界對教育問題的重視，近5年來，當時曾預言的高學歷通膨、技職教育黑洞、大學倒閉等問題，一一成真，面對台灣日益嚴峻的經濟與產業危機，台灣的未來已經走在歷史成敗的懸崖邊，嚴長壽烈火煎心地寫下8,000字專文，出版《教育應該不一樣》全新增修版，增補國際最新教育趨勢及案例，並直指台灣必須把握的契機。
嚴長壽今日在被問到對頂新劣油案一審判無罪的看法時表示，這都回到教育的「思辨」能力，如果我們的法官都被訓練標準答案的時候，他是沒有思辨方法的，只會依照法匠的精神，依法論法，但他卻不了解社會觀感，不了解它對台灣未來的傷害有多大。
嚴長壽說，因為這個判例，造成未來台灣的傷害是鼓勵台灣商人，「It’s OK.」即使是用不對的東西，只要檢查不被查出來就可以，這是很嚴重的社會訊息，這可能就是教育出了問題。
